Adi Oren is a New York–based painter whose work is rooted in transformation, freedom, and the fluidity of human experience. Educated at RISD and splitting her time between New York City and the Hudson Valley, Oren works with acrylics, inks, and found textiles to create vibrant, dynamic compositions. A recurring motif in her practice is the high-diving figure, a symbol of liberation and resilience that bridges the personal and universal. This imagery first took public form through a monumental outdoor mural in Ellenville, where soaring figures became a visual emblem of renewal for the community.
At the Inn Way Art Co-op, Oren extended these explorations of movement and metamorphosis into an immersive setting. Her pieces—layered in color, gesture, and texture—were featured during Upstate Art Weekend as part of the co-op’s “Context Brings Content” program. Presented alongside other multidisciplinary works, her paintings offered visitors a visceral sense of release and possibility, inviting them to contemplate the leap into freedom that her figures embody. In this communal, experimental space, Oren’s art resonated as both a personal journey and a shared call to embrace courage, transformation, and the exuberance of flight.
