The Sqrypt Atelier WInter Out post

In December 2023, Robyn participated in a Holiday Market series with designers collab.

It was a great opportunity to receive feedback on this new concrete process she was experimenting with at the time and share her functional concrete home decor products with the Brooklyn community.

At the time the work was being cast on Bayard at a friend’s garage studio in Greenpoint.

Since then she moved her studio process to Upstate New York and started a long term art residency in Japan where she explores infusing botanicals with a focus on indigo and teas to hone her craft and build a larger network. After two years of adventures to scale an Art Co-op & Wellbeing concept in Upstate New York, she is honored to return here to North 5th in 2025 with this Winter Outpost curating a selection of work from artists she currently is collaborating with on sculptures at Inn Way Art Co-op in the village of Ellenville.

Her current studio is in a mid century modern atrium of an old hotel with an acre backyard. In its inaugural year, she brought together 24 artists in a variety of mediums pushing the limits of what they thought they could do. It is quite a departure from the work benches in garages and warehouses of Brooklyn that shaped her practice and style with the streets of the city being her backyard to let her street art sculpture prototypes weather in the wild and communicate with other artists on the ground. Now she has the opportunity to scale and make them life size into architecture with those artists.

This outpost here is the first location in NYC to support this bridge with an exploration in different materials of affordable art as an extension of the larger pieces presented during Upstate Art Weekend in 2025. Supporting this outpost will help prepare for the next series launching June 25-29th, 2026. The materials represented are in natural rocks from upstate, ceramic, porcelain, metal, and of course concrete.

Robyn Squires

In parallel to her professional career in architecture and construction management in NYC, Robyn Squires founded RYSQ Design Collective in 2005, as a collaborative umbrella for scaling art to the architectural realm.

Robyn’s current medium is concrete. Her interest in this material began with her responsibilities on job sites to coordinate superstructures and inspection sign-offs with the concrete mixing plants. With leftover concrete on a mixing truck that would otherwise go to waste, she would cast bases for sculpture prototypes and make coasters to hand out at topping out events. She became known for this concrete jungle street art move. A few years ago she began infusing concrete with unexpected inks, dyes, and botanics as an experiment in studio and currently shares this process in workshops. She plans to scale this concept to design and cultivate sustainable spaces to support healing, connection, and longevity.

After 14 years contributing to building the fabric of NYC, Robyn pivoted in 2018 to work with non-profits and small businesses in the sustainability and wellness sector which led to an inflection point in her art practice. She firmly believes that through the lens of art and architecture, it is possible to cultivate longer, healthier sustainable lives. To truly heal thy buildings and trust space again. We need to start by understanding how to work with one of the most common building materials in use globally today.

Eunyoung Sebazco

EunYoung’s hand-built ceramic vessels feature angular forms and a simple, textured finish. Each piece tapers sharply to a bold point, creating a sense of upward movement. Finished in a rich, non-reflective matte black, the surface highlights the clay’s natural, tactile quality. Minimal enough to stand alone as sculpture or to hold a botanical arrangement, this collection brings a contemporary, architectural presence to any modern space.

EunYoung’s hand-built porcelain candle-holder houses bring a gentle, whimsical touch to any space. They evoke the quiet imagination of a small village—something that lingers softly in the room.

EunYoung Sebazco, originally from Seoul, Korea, spent a decade studying and practicing as a Landscape Architect in Tokyo before relocating to New York City. There, she deepened her plant knowledge and earned certification as a professional horticulturist from the New York Botanical Garden. Over the past 16 years, she has worked as a public horticulturist to maintain public gardens. In 2022, she showcased her work at the Philadelphia Flower Show with a Patio Garden exhibit.
A longstanding practitioner of the Japanese tea ceremony, she expresses her creativity across ceramics, floral design, landscape design, culinary arts, and matcha teaching. As a ceramic artist, she creates work informed by nature, ritual, and the quiet gestures of daily life. She has also developed participatory art projects centered on the tea ceremony, collaborating with other artists to explore shared experiences and moments of reflection.

She is the co-founder of KINKA, offering art and design services—including garden design and installation—since 2020.
