At the heart of the bustling Ellenville Farmers Market, the Innway Art Co-Op unfolded a dynamic series of community-centered workshops as part of the Upstate Art Weekend’s “Context Brings Content” programming. Visitors were invited to engage in hands-on activities. Each month has a theme. In June we kicked off the series with paint in the rain hand prints to contribute to the village mural wall project. In July we had a simple but colorful promotional event to make keychains and friendship bracelets in collaboration with accessories provided by Top Shelf Jewelry to promoted the upcoming festivals for art and culture. In August we collaborated with another market stall to make Cyanotypes using the power of the sun to print textures of flowers and leaves and a collage. In September for back to school we closed the summer series with a back to school even out of the back of our kei truck sharing school and office supplies and fresh sketchbooks for the upcoming school year. Each workshop contributed to the ambience and energy of the market to provide a creative reason to enjoy that Wednesday afternoon.
